Kyushu University holds a seminar regarding gender equality by Dr. Machi Dilworth, the Vice President for Gender Equality and Human Resource Development of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST). Dr. Dilworth will introduce the activities at OIST and in the USA including the measures against unconscious bias.

Dr. Machi Dilworth
Dr. Machi Dilworth is the Vice President for Gender Equality and Human Resource Development at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST). She became the first Vice President for Gender Equality in 2015. She is a former National Science Foundation official and current member of BTI*’s Board of Directors. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Plant Biochemistry and Physiology, University of California at Los Angeles, and B.A. in Natural Sciences, International Christian University, Tokyo.
