Research Assistant Employment Support (short term) aims to enhance the research potential at Kyushu University (hereafter referred to "the university") by realizing the utmost strength of our diverse personnel. To do this, we provide an environment in which researchers belonging to the university need not delay or suspend their research due to life events such as gatherings to make social contributions, childbirth, parenting, and caregiving, so that the researchers can give their undivided attention to research.
Female faculty members and female research fellows who belong to the university (engaged in research activities for 20 hours or more per week).

This support provides financial support for female researchers who have difficulties in securing time for research to hire research assistants who work to provide direct research support under the instruction of the applicant researcher.

Research Assistant Employment Support (Professor/Associate Professor Parenting Support) aims to enhance research potential of Kyushu University (hereafter referred to "the university") by realizing the utmost strength of our diverse personnel. To do this, we provide an environment in which female professors/associate professors belonging to the university can continue their research and educational activities after birth and during parenting without delay.
Faculty members who belong to the university (division members and special fixed-term faculty members for universitywide management only).

This support provides up to 2 years of financial support for researchers who fill the requirements explained in Qualifications for Application and have difficulties in securing time for research due to parenting to hire research assistants who work to provide direct research support under the instruction of the applicant researcher.

As a part of Kyushu University Fundamental Support System for Research Activities, we provide assistance so that excellent researchers can smoothly return to workplace after their suspension of research activities due to childbirth/parenting. This is a continuous initiative to cultivate and support female researchers in order to promote a diverse research environment. This assistance is being given as a trial, as we have been chosen by the program "Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment" of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Female researchers or female research fellows belonging to Kyushu University who had suspended research activities for 3 month or more due to childbirth or parenting after April 1, 2012, and have returned to the workplace to do research activities.

Amount: (Up to) 500,000 yen per person for science subject, (Up to) 300,000 yen for humanities subject
Object: Examples of expenses
"Equipment expenses" Small purchases necessary for research activities (computers are included)
"Supplies expenses" Devices necessary for research activities such as office supplies
"Personnel expenses" Research assistant employment expenses
"Domestic travel expenses" Domestic travel expenses (attending academic conferences, research activities, meetings)
"Service expenses" Expenses to attend academic conferences, expenses for revision of English text of academic articles, expenses for submission of academic articles.
