2024.11.18 Winners announcement of Sanae-I. Itoh Awards for FY 2024

 Since 2018, Kyushu University has launched "Kyushu University Young Female Researchers and Female Graduate School Students Awards (Sanae-I. Itoh Awards)" to honor young female researchers and graduate students, who have made outstanding research achievements within the past three (3) years. This year marks the 7th anniversary of the award. After the final deliberation, the winners have been selected for Young Female Researchers and Female Graduate Students respectively from humanities and social sciences, science and engineering, and life science as follows:


【Young Female Researchers Award】

〇 The Best Researchers Award

    Wang     Zhenying(Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering)

    “Wetting and Phase Change of Multicomponent Thermofluids”


〇 The Outstanding Researchers Award

    Ryu Aerim(Associate Professor, Faculty of Law)

    “Reception History of Alexis de Tocqueville’s Political Thought in Modern Japan”


    María Belén Alfonso(Associate Professor, Center for Ocean Plastic Studies, Research Institute for Applied Mechanics)

    “Presence and impact of microplastic pollution in marine and freshwater aquatic environments”


【Female Graduate School Students Award】

〇 The Best Researchers Award

    Hiromi Nakai(D3 students, Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences)

    “Next-generation yield prediction based on translocation mechanisms and nonuniformity of environment: Visualization of fluctuation and distribution of yield components”


○ The Outstanding Researchers Award

    Yuki Ohsaka(D1 student, Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society)

    “Research on Parents and Children with Foreign Origin and Opportunities for Early Childhood Education”


    Kanna Nagae(D2 student, Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences)

    “Elucidating the ecology and life history of Cobitis striata fuchigamii


The award ceremony will be held on November 28th (Thu) at Ito Campus.
